Landscape roses – Ideal for the beginning gardener, landscape roses are considered disease resistant. They need less maintenance than other rose types. However, note that the hybrid varieties of these are not recommended for beginners.

Climbing Roses – Frequently planted for growth along houses, fences, buildings and trellises, the climbing rose grows differently than regular roses; they grow upwards like vines. Popular types are wichuraine, hybrid teas, and large flowered climbing varieties.

Old Garden Roses – Long blooming season and disease resistant are also two characteristics of the old garden rose. In addition, this flower type boasts a powerful fragrance; hence, they are noted as not being good choices for people with allergies who may be allergic to their scent.

Floribunda - Also referred to as The Modern Rose, Floribunda is a cross breeding between the polyanthus and the hybrid tea. The flowers boast a wonderful, full fragrance and long blooming season. They are also a popular choice to use for cutting.

Miniature Roses – Bursting with smaller blooms, miniature roses are just smaller in size than average roses. But don’t let their size fool you! They also burst with fragrance just like the big guys. Miniature roses are a popular choice for indoor growing, too.
